# Introduction
Our Authority Plan (Authority Plan (opens new window)) sets out how we will deliver to the statutory purposes and duty of the National Park.
This digital format Progress Report replaces the static annual Performance and Business Plan approach as we seek to rationalise the number of strategic corporate documents and reduce the complexity of information presented to members facilitating more effective scrutiny of key issues and actions.
This Progress Report site will be updated every 6 months, resulting in 10 decile reports over the 5-year Authority Plan (2023 – 2028). These decile reports will track progress and report on challenges over half year and annual cycles. The half year updates will replace the traditional quarter 2 report. Whilst the turn of year report will present a summary of progress for the previous year and set out the program for the coming year. Also on annual basis, the corporate risk register, financial overview and statement and staff post information will be published along with commentary from the Chair of the Authority.
All the information required as part of the Performance and Business Plan Process is captured in one site, which is paper free, accessible for screen reader technology and will show progress as it builds over the whole of the Authority Plan period.
# Understanding the report
# Aims and Objectives
The Authority Plan is focused around the Enabling Delivery aim which captures key elements of the Authority’s own essential business and management of transformational change. Alphabetical references have been used for each of the eight objectives (A-H) under this aim and each has a measurable target which is performance monitored (see panel in top right corner).
# Key Actions
For each objective there is a diagram detailing the list of programme delivery actions to be carried out each year over the 5 years of the plan. Each key action is to be delivered by March of the programme year, unless detailed otherwise (dates will be provided). All actions will be rated using the RAG scheme.
# Progress Commentary
Finally, there is a commentary section which will provide the head of service, responsible for delivery, an opportunity to share relevant information on overall progress. This commentary will be updated for each of the 10 decile reports. Only the current period commentary will be visible.
# Performance Monitoring (RAG Scheme)
# Key actions
All key actions are rated using the RAG scheme. Many of our actions are ongoing, and as such, do not have simple fixed numerical targets or end points, so they are reported qualitatively. The rating allocated to the action is based on the criteria detailed in the first column of the table below (Key action status).
# RAG Scheme
The RAG reporting panel (top right corner) will indicate progress against target for this reporting period. It will allow progress to be tracked over the 5 years of the plan. The rating allocated to the target is based on the criteria detailed in the second column of the table below (Objective (A-H) Target status).
RAG | Status | |
---|---|---|
Key actions | Objective (A-H) Target | |
A significant delay in schedule / Rise in quality issues / Significant resource shortage | Off Target | |
A delay in schedule / Lack or incorrect mix of resource | Caution | |
On schedule / Quality is meeting expectations / No resource issues | On Target | |
No action this year | n/a |
