# Introduction
The National Park Management Plan provides the framework that encourages everyone to work together to achieve national park purposes. It is a plan for the place, and as such, is a partnership plan which is the single most important strategic document for the Peak District. The Peak District Partnership has over 70 organisations, which provide a diverse range of perspectives and collaborative relationships with a core focus to work together to protect and enhance the National Park.
Our aspirational vision outlines where we collectively want the Peak District to be in 20 years time.
By 2043 the Peak District National Park is exemplary in its response to climate change and nature recovery. Its special qualities and resilience as a living landscape have been significantly enhanced. It is a welcoming place where all are inspired to care and communities thrive.
# Understanding the report
The Peak District National Park Management Plan 2023 – 28 (opens new window) contains four aims which will help achieve the vision over the next two decades, and 11 objectives underpin these aims, the cascading 49 Actions create a 5 year partnership work programme. Each action has a RAG status which provides an indication of progress against the 5 year partnership work programme.
Partnership working is about direct delivery, but as importantly, leading by example and influencing others to the benefit of the National Park.
This new digital format Progress Report will be produced annually and will provide an overview of partnership progress so far.
